The school has a friendly and active parent group called Friends of St John’s (FoSJ). This organisation has supported the school for decades and its contribution to the life of the school community has been invaluable.
FoSJ has always tried to remain true to its original aims which are:
- to provide social activities for everyone involved with the school in order that good links be established between home and school;
- to raise funds for the school;
- and to perform an education service when and where appropriate eg supporting the curriculum
FoSJ: organises events such as the Christmas and summer fairs; manages other fundraising activities such as printing bags ; provides support for school visits through subsidising costs; provides much-needed resources in school such as books for the library; and arranges enjoyable activities for the children such as theatre groups performing in school.
FoSJ has consistently made generous donations to the school and the work of this group is much appreciated; it is hoped that parents new to St John’s Catholic Primary School, will become actively involved in the work of the association.
