The sad news of the death of Pope Francis has been announced, giving rise to prayers and reflection across our schools and communities. In his 12 years as our Pope and spiritual father, Pope Francis achieved a great deal. He promoted Gospel values, championed education and encouraged us all to do more to support one another, particularly the most vulnerable.
It is fitting that as part of his last blessing on Easter Sunday he said: “I would like all of us to hope anew and to revive our trust in others, including those who are different than ourselves, or who come from distant lands…for all of us are children of God!”
His teaching and legacy will not be lost, and we will cherish all that he stood for and all that he asked. His compassion, kindness and his caring leadership was an inspiration to us all.
Prayer for Eternal Rest
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace. Amen.
At St John of Beverley Catholic Primary School the child comes first
Every decision we make, every plan we put into action is to help the children achieve their true potential. Our school is a genuine family. We value and respect one another and seek always to offer support and love to every one of our family members. We pray together, learn together, work together, laugh together and sometimes even cry together. at St John’s everybody has a sense of belonging.
We strive to be the best that we can be. We want to ensure that the time the pupil spends with us are the best years of their life.
Through our faith, through the curriculum we offer, through the pastoral support we give and the relationships we build, we want our children to have the best of everything.
At St John’s we produce confident children who know that they have an active part to play in the school, the wider community and in the world. We are forward thinking and outward looking. We know that we need to prepare our children for a society which is ever changing. The lessons learned at Saint John’s need to equip children with the knowledge , understanding and drive to make changes in the world, to stand up for what it is right and fair, this takes courage. Therefore, it is our duty to support and nurture pupils so that they have the confidence to speak up when needed to. We celebrate difference, we welcome others, we nurture and support and help children to become advocates and good role models for others.
“Excellent school, all the staff- teaching and non-teaching are very supportive. Answer any questions or queries promptly and support both children in succeeding as individuals.”
ParentEco Schools Green Flag
We are so proud to have achieved our Eco Schools Green Flag award. Children, Staff and Parents have worked very hard to meet all the necessary standards for the award. Our aim is to continue to make our school as ‘Green’ as possible in every way.
Children enjoy learning about the environment in many areas of the curriculum and are active in promoting messages learned at home.
Our Vision
Everyone at St John of Beverley School is part of Your family. Help us to share, play and learn together and try to be the best we can be.
